What The Soak Actually Looked Like
A Storm Proof match went into a mason jar of water and stayed there.
Not for a photo. Long enough to pull the blank stick out, shave it down, and baton it into kindling — the match sat underwater the whole time.
Then we lifted it out, wiped the head, and shaved the wax seal open with a knife blade.
It lit on the fourth strike.
Laid into the kindling, it held flame long enough to dry the damp out and turn a pile of shavings into an actual fire.
